The story
From a record collection to the ballroom
It started with records. DJ SR began collecting vinyl in 1995, bought his first turntables in 1998 and spent two years practising before warming up crowds at Queen Mary student union bars in 2000.
Within a few years he had regular gigs in Leicester Square, followed by long West End residencies, including Zenna Bar in Soho from 2008 to 2017 and the London Groove parties, whose mix CDs still circulate in cars across London.
Since 2007 he has played galas and awards ceremonies, and today his diary is mostly corporate events, brand launches and private celebrations, alongside regular residencies across the City and South London.
The approach
Correctly selected. Rightly timed.
Every booking starts with the brief and ends with a full dancefloor. In between, DJ SR reads the room, follows the running order and plays to the guests in front of him, never a pre-planned playlist.
He has performed for members of the Royal Family, multinational companies that book him year after year for their parties, awards and galas, and private clients who want their milestone birthday to sound like the best night of their lives.
In 2013 he founded Party Night London, a DJ agency supplying hand-picked DJs across London.
